In Law, Seduction is considered a Tort as well as a Crime.

Seduction as a Tort

  • For the tort of seduction, it must be proved that the child or servant was in actual or constructive service at the date of seduction and due to it, the child or servant was ill whether or not it lead to pregnancy.

This tort is applied in English rule but was rarely used in India.

The enticement of wife was held to be illegal per se.

Enticement of wife is treated different from that of seduction of daughter or servant.

Loss of service is the test under tort.
