Section 9 of Minimum Wages Act, 1948

Section 9 of Minimum Wages Act, 1948 deals with the composition of the Central Advisory Board. It says that the appropriate Government shall nominate employers and employees in equal number representing various scheduled employments for every committee or sub-committee. Independent members not exceeding 1/3rd are appointed. One such person will be the Chairman. Independent person is one who is neither an employee nor an employer in the employment for which the minimum wages are to be fixed.
