Powers of a Civil Court

Section 151 0f The Code of Civil Procedure, 1908 deals with the inherent power of the courts to undermine legal technicalities and procedural requirements to meet the ends of justice; this power of court is called the inherent power of court.


A Commission of Inquiry has the powers of a civil court but does not confer on it the status of a court.
